Guatemala 2008 Dr. Corbin's Charitable Journey

Primary cleft lip repair
"We can do no great things; only small things with great love."
Mother Teresa
Guatemala 2008
This 10 day charitable mission was as rewarding as my past missions
to Africa, India, Mexico, and Ecuador. The face of poverty is always the
same no matter where you are in the world.
In reality my charitable surgical contributions are small, but to the
needy patients I treat my efforts are huge. My goal as a plastic
surgeon whether I am operating on a celebrity in Beverly Hills or a patient
in a third world county is always to make a positive change in their lives.
On the charitable mission to Guatemala, I performed 30 charitable surgeries
on patients ranging in age from 1 to 80. The cases varied from Cleft lips
to lumps and bumps. No matter how big or small the surgery the difference
a charitable act makes to these patients can be life changing. What a
beautiful concept. I feel blessed to have the gift to change a complete
strangers life with surgery.
